The BlipCam difference

Choose how long.
Right in the camera.

Before you take the photo, pick its lifetime with one tap next to the shutter. No extra step, no settings to dig through: every capture knows when to leave.

Try it: choose a duration

Change a capture’s lifetime later from the library, or set your default in Settings. When time is up, captures move to Recently Deleted for 30 days.

This capture expires in 1 hour. This capture expires in 1 day. This capture expires in 7 days.

Features

Made for the photos you only need for a while.

A parking spot, a receipt, a Wi-Fi code: BlipCam keeps them handy, then lets them go.

  • Temporary Camera

Photos you take in BlipCam stay in its private library. They are not added to Photos, and the camera works without Photos access.

  • Choose Your Duration

Pick 1 hour, 1 day or 7 days right next to the shutter, before you shoot. Set your default in Settings.

  • Temporary Library

All your captures in one place, each with the time it has left. Zoom, use Live Text, share, or change a lifetime.

  • Automatic Expiration

Expired captures move to Recently Deleted, where you can recover them for 30 days. Optional reminders before they expire.

  • Screenshot Import

Save a screenshot straight to BlipCam with its Shortcuts action, which you can assign to Back Tap or the Action button.

  • Quick Access

Open the temporary camera from Control Center, the Lock Screen or Siri, and send images from the share sheet.

How it works

Choose. Capture. Let it expire.

Temporary by default, permanent only when you decide.

  1. Choose Duration

Select 1 hour, 1 day or 7 days in the camera, just above the shutter.

  2. Capture

Take the photo. It goes to your BlipCam library, not to your camera roll.

  3. Expire

When time is up, it moves to Recently Deleted. Want to keep it? Choose Keep in Photos.

Privacy & security

Temporary, and private.

Your captures are processed and stored on your iPhone.

  • Private storage

Captures stay in BlipCam’s private container on your device, excluded from new system backups.

  • On-device analysis

Live Text, QR code detection and cleanup suggestions run on your iPhone.

  • Lockable Recently Deleted

Protect Recently Deleted with Face ID or your passcode.

  • Ads never see your images

Images, recognized text and QR contents are never supplied to the advertising SDK.

BlipCam shows a banner ad in the library, provided by Google AdMob, which uses network services and processes some device and advertising data. Expired items stay recoverable for 30 days before they are permanently removed. Read the full privacy policy.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does BlipCam work?

Open the BlipCam camera, choose how long to keep the photo (1 hour, 1 day or 7 days) and take it. The photo is stored in BlipCam’s private library with its expiration time. When the time is up, it moves to Recently Deleted.

Are my captures saved to my camera roll?

No. Photos taken in BlipCam are not written to Photos. If you want to keep one permanently, choose Keep in Photos: BlipCam then saves a copy to your library, only at that moment.

What happens when a capture expires?

It moves to Recently Deleted inside BlipCam, where you can recover it for 30 days. Items there still use storage until they are permanently removed after that period, or earlier if you choose Delete Now.

Can I change the duration after taking a photo?

Yes. Change a capture’s lifetime from its menu in the library. You can also set the default duration in Settings.

Does BlipCam import all my screenshots automatically?

No. iOS does not allow an app to collect your screenshots automatically. BlipCam provides a Save Temporary Screenshot action for Shortcuts, which you can run from Back Tap or the Action button, and a share sheet option to send an image to BlipCam.

Where are my captures stored?

In BlipCam’s private storage on your iPhone, excluded from new system backups. They are not uploaded to DORIAQ. Deleting BlipCam removes its private library, so keep anything important in Photos first.

How much does BlipCam cost?

Pricing will be confirmed when BlipCam is released on the App Store. The current version displays a banner ad in the library.

Troubleshooting

The camera doesn’t open
Open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and make sure BlipCam is allowed. Close other apps that may be using the camera.
Set up screenshot import
In BlipCam, open Settings and follow the screenshot setup guide: create a shortcut with Take Screenshot followed by Save Temporary Screenshot, then assign it to Back Tap in iOS Settings → Accessibility → Touch.
A capture disappeared
Open Recently Deleted in BlipCam: expired captures stay there for 30 days and can be recovered.
Keep a photo permanently
Open the capture and choose Keep in Photos. BlipCam asks for permission to add photos to your library the first time.
I don’t get expiration reminders
Turn on Expiration Reminders in BlipCam Settings and allow notifications for BlipCam in iOS Settings.
Change advertising choices
When required in your region, BlipCam Settings shows an advertising privacy options entry to review your choices.

Privacy Policy

BlipCam Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how the BlipCam app for iPhone handles your information.

Last updated:

Who publishes BlipCam

BlipCam is published by DORIAQ, a French simplified joint-stock company (SASU), registered under number 130 190 663 RCS Béziers. DORIAQ is responsible for the processing described in this policy where it decides how personal data is used.

For any question about this policy or your personal data, email contact@doriaq.com. Company information is available in the DORIAQ legal notice.

In short

BlipCam stores and analyzes your captures on your iPhone. DORIAQ does not receive your photos, screenshots, recognized text or QR contents, and BlipCam has no user account. A banner ad in the library is provided by Google, which processes some device and advertising data under its own policy.

Your captures

Photos taken with the BlipCam camera, screenshots saved with its Shortcuts action and images shared to BlipCam are stored in the app’s private container on your iPhone, with their capture date and expiration time. This storage is excluded from new system backups.

Live Text, QR code detection, search and Smart Cleanup suggestions are processed on your device. Optional Apple Intelligence refinement, when available and enabled, uses Apple’s on-device model with text signals and metadata only, never the image itself.

Permissions

You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

  • Camera: requested only when you open the temporary camera.
  • Photos, add-only: requested only when you choose Keep in Photos.
  • Photos, read access: requested only if you enable and start Smart Cleanup, to suggest temporary items. Suggestions never delete photos automatically.
  • Notifications: only if you turn on expiration reminders. They are scheduled locally on your iPhone.
  • Face ID or passcode: only to lock Recently Deleted. Biometric data is handled by iOS and never received by BlipCam.

Expiration and deletion

When a capture expires, it moves to Recently Deleted inside BlipCam, where it can be recovered for 30 days. It is then permanently removed the next time BlipCam runs, or earlier if you confirm Delete Now. Items in Recently Deleted still use storage until then.

Deleting BlipCam removes its private library. Earlier system backups made before this protection may still contain older data.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

BlipCam displays a banner ad only in the library, provided by Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Its SDK and Google’s consent platform use a network connection. Depending on your consent, your region and your device settings, Google may process advertising data, device identifiers, an approximate location derived from your IP address, interactions and diagnostic data, under its own privacy policy and retention rules.

Your images, screenshots, recognized text, QR contents and capture metadata are never supplied to the advertising SDK. BlipCam requests non-personalized ad treatment and does not ask for permission to track you across other companies’ apps and websites. When required, a consent message is shown before ads are requested and advertising privacy options are available in Settings.

The camera, screenshot imports, storage and image analysis keep working locally even when ads are unavailable.

Who receives data

DORIAQ does not sell personal data and does not receive data from BlipCam. Sharing a capture or keeping it in Photos sends a copy only when you choose; the receiving app or Photos may then sync it according to your settings. Google receives the data described above for advertising, and Apple distributes the app under its own privacy policy.

Retention

Captures are kept for the duration you choose, then 30 days in Recently Deleted. Preferences are kept until you reset them or delete the app. Data processed by Google is kept according to its own policies.

This web page and support emails

This page is part of the DORIAQ website, hosted by Vercel. The website sets no cookies, its code uses no browser storage and it includes no advertising trackers; DORIAQ’s institutional pages use Vercel Web Analytics for aggregated, cookieless audience statistics, which this application page does not load. Hosting technical logs and support emails are described in the DORIAQ website privacy policy.

If you email contact@doriaq.com, DORIAQ receives your email address, your message and anything you choose to attach. It is used only to answer you and to follow up on your request. Please do not send photos or personal information that your request does not require.

Your rights

Because your captures stay on your iPhone, DORIAQ cannot view, export or delete them for you: use the controls in the app. For data processed by Google, you can also contact Google directly.

Under the applicable conditions, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you can request access, rectification, erasure or restriction of your personal data, object to its processing and request portability. Email DORIAQ to exercise these rights. Requests are normally answered within one month.

You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. In France, this is the CNIL.

Children

BlipCam is not designed specifically for children and DORIAQ does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy describes the current version of the app. If a future version handles data differently, this page will be updated before that version is distributed, and the date below will change.
